Hello friends, I have this sword with attached NCO knot which I believe is an Eickhorn Field Marshall series Wrangel pattern based on previous input. I note that the Heer Bluse I purchased not too long ago has hardware and a slit for displaying a sidearm - in this case I assume for a sword. I know nothing about such hardware and if this sword is even appropriate for this Bluse. I don't plan on collecting anything else in this line so would prefer some feedback here from the War Relics crew rather than investing in an expensive book! Your help is appreciated. Neil

Hi Neil...yes you are correct..this is a Wrangel pattern by Eickhorn.
The blade looks to have some surface rust on it...and would clean up using some WD40 to remove the rust and for anything stubborn left over you can used simichrome.

The blade is a plated mirror finish and you will see that once it cleans up.
Below is my Wrangel for comparison.

Thanks Larry. It would be considered a dove head because of the pommel. Now I need some info about how it was worn. Hoping someone has an illustration. Neil
