I don’t collect many swords but they are are nice quality items. They are just harder to display than daggers. Glad you like this one.
Quality indeed. Across the crowded field of Solingen blade makers Alex. Coppel/Alcoso consistently produced quality. Some of the smaller companies were very average.
Does the eagle’s head facing to the viewers left mean this is a early 35-36 item or does that not matter on swords.
Must be 1936/37 based on the trademark. The type of eagle a Heer officer could buy varied from closed to open wing. Appears to be personal preference, these being private purchase.
