Police/SS sword for officers.

Thanks for the nice comments - I had an idea that is was a good one.

Can anyone with knowledge explain to me, the SS proff-markings on police swords like this?
....have heard something about, double membership - both police and SS?

What is the market-value for swords like this?

Nice sword with honest wear.

The SS-Kulturzeichen is only an acceptance stamp to illustrate that the sword has met the high standard and does not actually have any SS connection.
Baring in mind the police sword uses the same parts as the SS officers sword it could have been that the hilt and scabbard throat were stamped and then distributed to wherever.

There is such thing as SS/police membership. Some opted to have a sword like yours but wear a SS portepee. On very rare circumstances at an additional cost they ordered there Police sword to have an SS pommel.
