Portepee ID Needed
Hey Gents ..Im posting this portepee for an associate of mine and trying to ID the branch of service it may be from.
I already took a peek into John Angolias " Swords Of Germany " Reference and could not seem to find anything matching.
What came close was a mining official variant but in silver.
Also seen what came close was a portepee for an Imperial sword
Any thoughts would be appreciated .Thankyou
Regards Larry

I suspect it's a recent made one, and may be a totally invented design. The style and shape of the knot suggests it could be Third Reich, but it's not military. The cord seems short for a sword knot, and would better suit a dagger. But there are some unidentified types in mint condition in circulation and these are likely complete fakes.
