deleting files

How do I go in & delete & clean up my files ? There are some 450 pictures loaded, is it necessary to delete these images & clean out all the old pics (files) ?

No, it's not necessary.
I currently have about 4000 images in my File Upload Manager.
If you delete these images, your posts containing these will be useless.
