Fakers, rip off artists, good people
Im new to this hobby but so far
In this short time ive noticed 3 different
Type of people in this hobby.
Number 1) the fakers! We can all agree
That there are a ton of fake rings that people
Willing know that there fake! that are for sale.
Some im sure, dont know. Which happens.
Number 2) the rip off artist! I came across a couple of
These people so far. They have real items but for crazy
Prices! Im sure because they know im new and i dont
Know any better. But it all comes out at the end. And then they get offended and are embarrassed.
Number 3) the good people. I found a couple people here so far that help out a lot and are quite knowledgeable!
Just my opinion so far with people ive met!
Cheers Todd

There are MANY good people here, they just don't all fit into your collecting focus.

Not necessarily true, there are many fakers in awards as well. Some are well known for a long time and do it openly.

I associate myself with the above. The purpose of this site is really education about regalia. The collector's anger at human frailty is a promiscuous
feature of our digital world. If you spend more time educating yourself, you will be far less prone to the travail of others. And by good citizenship here,
you will avail yourself more good material, maybe at a lesser price.

Nazi regalia was faked prior to 1933.

Of course, Clausewitz divided the Prussian officer corps into a four part entity:
a.) the intelligent and industrious
b.) the intelligent and lazy
c.) the stupid and industrious
d.) the stupid and lazy
These categories could also be used to analyze the militaria market and or the on line digital militaria thingy.
I fit into category: c. ...!?
Happy collecting.

Wise words and just about the only guideline needed to "succeed" in the collecting world. Educating yourself is key here... as in all other walks of life there's good and bad--- you just need to learn how to tell them apart. Step by step.
