I like it Al. It's a beauty. I reckon it's a good one. I love the Legion Condor rings and they're hard to find now.
I have one that is similar to your one here. The silver mark looks like it might be different though. The detailing on the cartouche face look like rose gold.
It and some other Condor Legion rings were posted here on the forum a few years ago. Here's a link:
Legion Condor rings
The Condor Legion was Kampfgruppe 88 as you know. Some of these rings also have a KG88 unit ID on them, for example, one of mine has 2Ln.88, which was the Luftnachrichtenabteilung 88 (Ln/88), i.e., Signals Unit.
Others like your one here and mine have blank spaces under the eagle, presumably where a unit ID could be engraved.
Here are five examples of LC rings:
Nice find. Congratulations!
Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Stephen, I've been looking for one for a long time. I don't have it in hand yet. It's coming from Spain in a few weeks then I'll post it in more detail.
You have a stunning collection.
Regards, Al
Why are only obscure TR rings marked on the exterior of the band?
Never seen this on any antique rings or jeweller made items.
It just seems very odd compared to all other ring production.
These are Spanish produced rings, perhaps that has something to do with it. I don't know enough about the process to say for sure
Regards, Al
It just seems odd.
It’s an interesting question. The vast majority of German rings from the Third Reich period are indeed marked on the inside, but there are exceptions. As I understand, some other countries, for example, Finland and the Netherlands, required (maybe still do) that rings imported to that country be stamped as such on the outside of the shank. I don‘t know what the case is with Spain but, as noted by Al, the LC rings were mostly made there and not in Germany. They also seem to have had the maker and/or silver mark on the outside of the shank.
The ring arrived today after two weeks in transit. It strikes me as a nicely tooled authentic ring with no signs of casting. The ring is extremely well made and solid. It was never personalized with the unit so perhaps never actually purchased for wear. I'm happy to add this beauty to my collection.
Regards, Al
