It is not original. Engraving is dead giveaway.

There were different types of engraving. There was no common standard
IMO, if it is a '42 ring, then all '42 rings would be engraved the same.by samland

I haven't seen any other rings in `42
That may be a problem regarding authenticity then.

engraved text is "cast in" and not hand chisel engraved as they all are , defiantly not an original honor ring , a one looker fake
It is a fake as stated.
If you want to see an original 42 dated ring, look at the one I posted last week.
