Another USSR cap star

I was looking back in the threads but could not find one that looked just like this one. Is This a WWII cap badge. Any help would be much appreciated. Gary

IMO, it is an example of one of the many "non-textbook" wartime variants.

Please provide a measurement and shot of the reverse.

Thanks for looking RichieC the star as you can see is about an inch and a half in size hope this helps. This star is my only Soviet piece at this time . I just like the look of it. Gary
