Difference between a Bekesha and a Shuba
Hello,
I own two Bekeshas. Both in 52 - 2, one dating from 1976 the other from 1985.
Can someone tell me what the difference is between a Bekesha and a Shuba? From the information I could find on the Internet (but perhaps I didn't look at the right places) there does not seem to be much difference.
I was also wondering if these sheepskincoats are sometimes faked. Not that i can see why because Bekeshas are still made and used. The ones I have are well made of good quality sheepskin and they are stamped with everything from the country of manufature, the Kombinat, size, date etc.
But I remember reading somewhere that Shuba's are much faked.
Can somone shed a light on this subject?

Re: Difference between a Bekesha and a Shuba
The difference is the following: if the fur is only on the outside - it's a shuba (шуба). If the fur is inside it's a bekesha (бекеша). But bekesha's cuffs and collar of fur too.
