Can I get some feedback on the vintage of this star that is attached to a German buckle? I believe it is an original star, but suspect it’s actually a post war example. However, the differences are subtle so some input from those more experienced would be helpful.

It was done, but I would like to see the whole buckle, front and back. We need to see how star is attached and if its a relic or not.

I should point out that these are the seller’s photos.
It looks like a small plate was riveted over the eagle and then the star was added after.

I think they were done by Russian soldiers as trophies at the time. Here is a dug one I have that was fitted with a guards badge ( via a 2 pfennig coin )

Not worth a lot but a great talking point!!!

It's Soviet captured to be re-used. See this thread:

    De-nazified german belt buckles!

And there is value there unlike stated above.

I shared some more photos as requested. Any feedback regarding the vintage of the star, or the buckle as a whole?
