M43 Gymnastyorka for review

Hi folks,

Just picked this Gymnastyorka up locally, tbh it was a bit of a gamble and bought from one photo, but it didn't cost the earth.
But wanted the get some thoughts from the esteemed experts of the forum, especially in regards to the insignia.
Having it in hand, and from the stamp and buttons i'm guessing it's early 60s?

The insgnia, especially the shoulder boards and bullion star, seem to me could be earlier but it's not an area i'm well versed in.
So any thoughts are appreciated.

Hmmm anyone have any thoughts? Even on the originality of the insignia? Is my guesstimate date on the tunic right?

Hey XJC!

This entire tunic is put together. The tunic is a 60s period gymnasterka with fake sleeve insignia and put-together shoulder boards.

Hope you didn't pay too much.

Had a feeling it was going to be no good.
It was a bit of a gamble, but fortunately nowhere near what an original would have cost.

Probably paid the sum of its parts, might use it as a display piece. Don't have to worry about the moths then!
