The dished buttons are revolving shank buttons from a BD blouse or trousers and are of the WWII pattern.

Jerry, you mean the Denim BD blouse of course... what puzzles me is that the bush jacket is provided with revolving shank buttons, which are easy to remove in case of frequent washings, but the insignia are sewn and not attached by snap fasteners....

You do see sewn on insignia on this type of item in spite of the logic of using poppers, it happened, why is hard to say in specific circumstances, lack of poppers etc... Of course it might have been restored post war.
