Just seen this, not sure if it's active anymore but the jacket you have posted is in fact an Irvin flying jacket; the reason there are so many panels is that as the war progressed, sheepskin became sparse and every part of the sheep had to be used. This meant that more and more variations of the original design came into service.

It's a very nice jacket, a true relic (and highly sought after).

One way to tell if it's original is also to check the zippers; 'Lightning' zippers were a WW2 supplier - and if the sleeves are stamped with 'AM' and a crown, you've got yourself an Irvin (AM stands for Air Ministry).

Definately an original, well found.
