Button identification

got a bunch of what i presume are tunic buttons, on the rear are stamps of a number of London button makers.
Anyone know anything about them? 2nd image is just to show there colour rather than for clarity.

I've seen these before somewhere I believe they are military just cannot remember what they are

I have a book somewhere that will tell me but I have no idea where it is, and when I find it it will take quite a while I think. I will get back to you within a month with a bit of luck

It's a griffin I take it?

Royal East Kent? (Buffs) I'm not sure exactly how much the buttons differ from the cap badges. OK, I think I'm off track, that looks like a griffin, but East Kent has a dragon it seems.

I have a feeling these are British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) buttons.

Looks more like cap buttons to me , and also thinking they are not militay!

Hi, on the back of the buttons are Lotery & Co London and J.C.S & W Ltd London if this is of any further investigative use.

They could be early London Transport buttons, circa 1960 ish. I remember LT used the griffin like the ones show, just a thought

I think you could be right about the London transport buttons, the late husband of my neighbour used to be a conductor on London transport. They even had to be licensed for that job back in the day.

A quick search on ebay for "LONDON TRANSPORT GRIFFIN BUTTONS" confirms what they are. Thank you all so much for your information

I assumed they might be military related .
