    Picked this up a few weeks back in a local antique centre, 1940 pattern battledress for a captain in the Royal army service corps,formation patch is for the 21st army group GHQ and lines of communication staff, medal ribbons are 39-45 star, France and Germany star and Special constabulary long service medal. in great condition just a couple of small moth nips under the arms. bargain price of £25.00 so well pleased ! . think the collar will have been modified by the owner ?,

    £25 bargain price!!!!! Just shows it’s still out there. As you say the collar has been modified which is quite common on officers and ‘walking out’ BD’s

    just hit the store at the right time, the dealer had just brought it in !!

    good price for a wartime bd. I think the line thru the label shows it is not the size that is claimed

    As said an excellent price for a wartime battle dress, getting harder to find but you were in the right place, right time!

    That's a nice looking blouse. That has all the goodies on it.
    Sorry to say I'm not up to Par on our cousins across the pond uniforms.

    So I'll ask for the learning experience.

    Is the blue and gold patch under the 21st army group GHQ patch mean that he is in the "lines of communication staff," ?

    hi phil, its known as arm of service strip, these were introduced in 1940, the yellow and blue are the colours of the RASC.
