Hey guys, I mostly collect Nazi stuff but recently I've been buying US uniforms and equipment, I have this M43 and was wandering would it be historically accurate to sow on division patches?

    Thanks!

Hi Josh, shoulder sleeve insignia was authorised for the M43 jacket, so it is accurate.

However, I would not place one on a jacket unless it had had one on there originally. Back in the 1980's when I collected US kit we all did it. But times have changed.

    Cheers, Ade.

I totally agree with Adrian! As regards collecting - not only apperance of the item is important, but its history as well. Fixing additional patches (does not matter - original or not) is a kind of "faking" the past... especially in case when there are no signs of patches sewed already. A lot of jackets had no unit patches in the field at all.
