I thought I'd post some pictures of my M-1943 field jacket which is in excellent condition. It has a minor field modification of having the corners of the breast pockets sewn down, I can only guess that this was to stop it snagging on the suspenders/webbing. It was bought about 20 years ago and came with the type written note in the pocket (not so many computers back then!). I checked the name on the US archive website and it comes back with only one Frank A Philips, however, he has a different service number (believe the item not the story!?).

An unusual and interesting little mod. Very nice condition with little wear.

    Cheers, Ade.
