A nice Ike Jacket. It has been a while since I have seen a 5th Infantry Division Ike. The unit crests are for the 2nd Infantry Regiment, one that served with distinction during Operation Cobra (Breakout at Normandy) and it seized the city of Metz as well as participated in the Battle of the Bulge in the Luxembourg sector..
Also interesting to see the 1/2" wide Bronze Star Medal Ribbon vs the Army 3/8" regulation ribbons below. It was not uncommon for the Army to use the 1/2" wide ribbons due to supply. These were of course more common with the Navy and Marine Corps, but again it was not uncommon to see on Army uniforms as well.
