US WWII Navy Uniform Group

Guys, Here is a group that I acquired from a WWII Navy Veteran this weekend. He served in both theaters on the battleship Texas. Thought you'd like to have a look. Best, Hal

Hi Rene, The only markings on the jumper is his name stenciled on the inside bottom and his initials stenciled at the neck. Regards, Hal

Top row left to right:
American compaign, European Theater ( 2 compaigns ), Pacific Theater ( 2 compaigns )
Bottom row:
Philipine Liberation, Yangtze Service, WWII Victory.
The Yangtze Service is a hard one to find.
Great grouping.

Sorry, not a Yangtze Service Medal...the Yangtze has a blue center band. The green center band on this one makes it a Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. Ribbon only, no medal.

What was the facemask for?? The "crossing the equator" ceremony?? (the official name escapes me right now)

I think its a gunners mask to stop you getting burnt. I believe they are still used.
