    Default WAC's in CBI

    Hello To All
Its not really my area of collecting but in my family, Im the collector and when someone passes and was in the service ,they know that I would be interested and take care of any Service related item they may have ,Well my Great Aunt Annie passed and I got a box in the mail from one of here neice's (my Cous)with her service uniform.
Well she was a Staff Sgt. in the CBI theater stationed in India attached to the Air Transport Command.
This is what I have figured out from researching the patches on the Uniform.
They made some sweeet patches in india.
These are the bullion type on the jacket and the cotton on the shirt.
I'll try to get some pic's and post if anybody is interested??

I noticed that she has what I would call Hash Marks near the cuff of the wool blouse.
For me (former Marine) that would be 4 years of service per hash mark.
How many years of service per hash mark was it in the AAF?

Really nice group. I like the Khaki drill material blouse. Typical of British Army clothing made in India.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thumbs up Re: WAC's in CBI

Thanks for the info Guy's. So she was there for a year. I remember her telling me when I was a kid that she was in India when they drop the Atomic bombs on Japan.

I have one more question about the piping on the cover.
I know the germans used different colors to show what field they were in.
Do the color's mean anything on this?
pic's alittle fuzzy, Its yellow /gold with blue strip's

The piping is correct and is for the WAC. The actual colour is yellow/gold with green, not blue.

    Cheers, Ade.
