    Latest find and just wanted to share. A 2nd Infantry Division front seam, fixed loop shell overpainted for Korea. Still a stunning example in my opinion of a unit painted helmet. Here is a period clip showing what happened to many painted helmets immediately post war: HD Stock Video Footage - A man cleaning and repainting M1 helmets of U.S. soldiers piled up on the ground in the European Theater.

    Nice pick up. A multi war shell! I would be so tempted to remove the Korean War Paint to review the unit insignia

    Same here LOL but it is history and probably should stay as is.......but

    Lovely 1st style McCord fixed loop. Looks to be lot 136A. Love it.
