    Hello,

I got this helmet cover. After doing some searching I came across the name beogam for this pattern. Most of them were made by Kiffe Japan and have slots for camouflage material.
This helmet cover doesn't have that. My question now is whether this helmet cover is original from that time? Possibly. made in Vietnam for the ARVN?

    Thanks and Greetings

These types of items are difficult to authenticate regarding era. Could it have been used by ARVN forces?? Maybe. But without provenance and more evidence one has to remain skeptical, but also open minded.

There are some well-educated helmet folks on here who may know the answer. To me it looks too new, and may have been made for re-enactors.

Some of the helmet folks may be alsong to give ytou some better ideas.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

    Best regards

    Hello,

    Thanks for the answers.
    I'm skeptical too.

But I also looked for reproductions that were comparable or identical. There should be more of them. Also missing.

I don't base it on the condition alone. The material and workmanship are at least not noticeable.

    Regards

Hi, while looking at a Central & South America helmet book I ran across these helmet covers used (seen in the mid 80s) on Mexican copied M1 plastic liners & also on South Korean M76 ballistic plastic helmets used by Mexican forces. The helmet covers are similar to yours, not a perfect copy but strongly influenced.

On Mexican a plastic M1 liner.
