HELP with UN M1 Helmet

Hello gentlemen,

I found these two M1 helmets with UN blue paint here in Brazil. Brazil participated in several UN missions.
Brazil purchased US M1 helmets from World War II until the 1980s.

I'm still suspicious if the painting is original or made more recently.

What do you think?

This is certainly an odd subject, I hope that there is a member with some experience on the forum. I have no doubt that Brazil did its part for NATO, but this is out of m expertise.

Would these be surplus from the Brazilian units who fought in Italy during WWII?
