M1 Liner paint question please

Hey Guys,

I wanted to ask if M1 liners were ever repainted during the ETO/PTO period and if so, how would one know versus a post war repaint?

Hello

Liners painted over during WW2 are relatively rare.
I know there liners from the PTO that were painted in jungle Camo. These liners are also very rare.

After the WW2, the liners were mainly repainted, sometimes several times, so that several layers of paint lay on top of each other.
The first refreshment took place in the early 1950s. The shells and liners were painted over in OD # 9 semi gloss color.
This was followed by a few different OD shades, probably what was available.
