Here is an M1 that I received a long time ago from a friend in the US who's Father ran a military vehicle parts supply business.

I know it was used when attending MV events but I only recently got it into the daylight again.

Comments welcome please upon what exactly I might have here.

Let's start with the helmet itself:

The shell is a front seam swivel bales with a small holed camouflage netting cover and a heat stamp, very feint due to being over painted. I can only make out 18?

I'm assuming it was a late war helmet reissued, updated for use in the 1960s, but am I right?
Nice helmet. It looks suspicious like a Danish helmet net! In addition, this could be a 1970s repaint M/48 (original M1) shell with SK80 olive-green color. The Danish army repainted/purchased new material with this color during the 1970s and early 1980s.

These Danish helmet nets was produced from 1949 to late the 1980s, virtual unchanged, internally by HTK/FKF.

I will find a bunch of Danish helmet nets when I get home and a couple of shells with this color, and post images.

Here a couple of Danish helmet nets. They were made by the Army themselves, by Hærens Tekniske Korps (HTK) (Army Technical Corps) or Forsvarets Krigsmateriel Forvaltning (FKF) (Defense War materiel Management). Roughly 6000-10000 each year, but some periods none. While the net look pretty much the same from 1949 to the 1980s, the band are slightly different in color and fabric and wide. I have not studied Danish helmet nets, but I fairly sure those with kaki bands are the early ones, while the darker they get the newer they are. Kaki was the Army choice of color in 1949, but already in the late 50s, they departed from this color, to a much darker green. Changing to a bright olive green in the 1970s (SK80). Helmet nets are never stamped, but might have soldier’s graffiti.

    Bands are 11,5-13cm is wide.

If you compare the later pictures of my M1 you can see the colour is clearly not a match for SK80.
