Photos are not great. It looks like a rear seam which means it may be post war but better photos and inner shell stamp ID would help. Personally, I would pass on this one unless you are really into relics. Neil

We that collect M1 helmet get excited when we find a helmet but when it’s a common M1 it’s best not to “cast your pearls for the swine”. I would pass on this one.

This is not a US shell, but a later euro clone. It is not US bails. Most likely a U.SCH from the 60’s. but could be an LS too. If it has a 1cm “line” at the middle bend of the bails it’s a U.SCH. Early LS shells (57,58,59) has the bails attached all the way up to the rim. Yours has not, so not an early LS.
