Well, I'm no expert, but to me it looks like a fake and here is why I feel that way. As I understand it, officer's did not display their rank on their helmets, especially not metal insignia and especially not on the front. Yes, there were generals who did that, but they were not at the front. To me, this looks like a professionaly done fantasy helmet or (maybe) a parade helmet. But I can say with a feeling of certainty, that helmet was never worn in combat. But, then what do I know? Dwight
The helmet is an odd one the strap look like aged repros, but the liner almost looks good to me. Try and research the name to see if he was actually in the 82nd

The price says it all
Well its up to £944 with 4 days to go,minnie.
still seems to good to be true in my opinion a well aged fake
Pure bullcrap. Fake chinstraps. No barstitch on chinstraps. Sloppy handstitch. 82nd did not paint their helmets.
I agree with the negative votes above - it's a made-up piece.
Not a bad job, but not original. A re-enactor would
love it..........
Regards,
Steve.
They did paint helmets but not ww2 period that would be a korean war type thing
