The liner was manufactured by Firestone. The webbing is dated 1967. The marking on the sweat band is unfortunately illegible.

On the side of the helmet there are self-painted unit symbols with a "B".

This is likely to be the symbol of the Company B, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. If I'm wrong please correct me.

Yet another fantastic Nam era M1c set, especially an Ingersoll type 2 shell with anchor stamped chinstraps, these are just so rare in todays market, usually these are seen with later "P" stamped hardware, just a great looking complete set with an even rarer shell,I like it a lot.hard to upgrade this example.

Great looking helmet. I have a question - the strap in the back of the helmet, what is the proper name for that? I thought I remembered from Airborne School that our M-1C’s had a strap in the rear. I need to find one of those to complete my helmet.
