I’ve had the cover for a few months but did not have a K-pot to go with it. The cover is named to a Navy Chaplain Lt. Michael E. Lavelle who was assigned to MAG-16 during Desert Storm

MAG stands for Marine Aircraft Group and I believe is part of the 3rd Marines Aircraft group/wing.
Navy Chaplains are attached to the Marine just as the Navy Corpsman.

Nice Marty
Is this what they call the chocolate chip pattern? Don't know much about these.
Do these covers for chaplains normally have official insignia.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Yes, chocolate chip camo, the cover at that time could have a patch or drawn cross but now with NVG mount it’s not on present day helmets.

I like the hand drawn cross and name. A bit more personal

Very Cool Marty!!
I love seeing your Chaplin collection growing!!
I used to have to go to Miramar every month or so. Its changed since I went there on a Top Gun Det. in the late 80's.
But its less that 15 minutes up the 15N from where I go to make my TE pic up's now.
I do it every couple months or so. Well a little less since this "Stuff" has us on limited distance travel.
Do you have a MAG-16 patch Marty??

Phil I don’t have a patch, I thought about looking for one. Do you have one?

Phil, a "Chaplin collection" would have a slightly different hat.
