    Charles Spring. From Lycoming County PA. Enlisted in Philadelphia in 1942. Looks like he was part of the USAAF.

    With this you can find out more on Ancestry, FamilySearch.org or others.

    Does it show where he served, or with which unit.

    No. They are just the enlistment records. So only basic information. But it gives a strong basis for deeper research. Interesting info though. He was a college grad and was an actor!

    Here is what is probably his Death information (I haven't verified but looks like the same guy)

    I use FamilySearch.org. It's free but not nearly as comprehensive as Ancestry.com

    Thank you again, Countries all seem to have different parts of information they will allow out.
    Glad to know he survived the war though.
    Thanks TD, we weren't brave enough to take the liner out to see what we might find.
