Need help identifying this M1 shell

Article about: Inside it there is a heat stamp number (1101) in the front, under the rim. Disconsidering the straps, could the shell alone be a McCord ?

    Looks like a post war Belgian helmet to me. US helmet chin straps were sewn on rather than riveted. The smooth paint finish is also a giva away its not American

    A McCord helmet would have some sort of letter after the numbers also
