Definitely repainted. The chinstraps look like reproductions, not sure why they would be because original one are readily available. They maybe foreign which makes me wonder if the helmet is European. Are there any marking on the inside of the lid? The swivel loops look American.

No markings that I could see, which led me to the repaint theory. It was done well though. I thought repro on the straps as well but I haven't seen this model reproduced?
Looks like a repainted genuine shell most likely by Ingersoll the heat stamp maybe obscured by the paint, and chinstraps look fine pre 69 with paint added to steel connectors.coulld be mistaken but nothing obvious is screaming euro-clone.
Is the Ingersoll stamp in the front like the others? If so I can try and remove some of the paint build up and get a look later.
It's at the front slighty further down from the curve as apposed to the ww2 versions.but still at the front.
Cool, Ill try and get a look tonight.
Hello,
I don't know a European M1 with such a texture.
It may be an Australian overhaul.
I've seen some of the same color and spare chin strap before.
