    Default Size stamp on webbing?

Came across a m1 liner for sale. Seller says the only stamps/markings he found is the word "SMALL" stamped in red ink on what looks like the inside of the nape strap. Is this common? Never seen this before, the webbing is the old khaki color.

I have one with LARGE stamped in black ink. I'll post a photo later when i get to it. Could be fun to compare measurement between a large and small, to see what the actual difference is.
