    Hey guys i took a chance at the flea market today and bought this helmet liner for 8$. It seems to be a calvary type.. If you know what it is please tell!

    Oh momma! That is a pristine example of the experimental M1 "Crash helmet" developed in WW2 to find a replacement to the M38 tanker helmet. It was to be used in conjunction with a steel shell that was never accepted. I have one myself, but not in as good of condition as this one. Let me know if you would like to sell it

    An average price for a helmet like this would be anywhere from 175 to 250 USD truely a very rare and neat piece

    Here are a couple older pics of mine, not in as good condition as yours. Looks to have seen quite a bit of use, but better than others I've seen. Wish it had the chinstrap swivels...




    And the liners did see use in Korea...
