Default US M1 Korea Or Vietnam Helmet w/liner and Camo Cover.

Hello guys hope you all are having a good day! I just picked up a US M1 Helmet with liner marked US17 but could not find a mark on the helmet itself. The Camo Cover is marked and according to my research is pre Korea? The Camo Cover looks to have been on it quite a while as you can see the wear from the fingers of the Camo Cover ghosted onto the liner.
I don't know a whole lot about M1's so learning as I go. First one I have acquired with a Camo Cover so I am in the dark on those, have done a little reseaech on those but still confused on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I can say that the cover dates to approx mid 1965

Take a look at the liner webbing - there's contract codes there!

Yes, from what I found online its date made is 1961?
The 61 after the row of numbers below the Contract Code? Is that correct? Thanks!

Definitely a Vietnam era set up, the camo cover is the mitchel pattern which was used extensively in the Vietnam conflict, liner looks like the "simplified" model that was introduced in the mid 60s if my memory is right which did away with the old neck strap and leather chinstrap. Also, I can see an anchor stamp on the shell chinstrap which would be correct for a mid war Vietnam helmet. if you look up the contract dates you should be able to find out when the liner, cover, and sweatband were manufactured. Great pick up by the way.

    Thank you guys!
Yes Mitchel Pattern, could not remember the name but saw it somewhere on the forum a few days ago while waiting for it to arrive.
I found a site about the codes a few days ago. Will try and see if I can figure out the dates on those. Thanks for the info and compliment! I like it a lot for my collection.

*Current discussion exists on the true date of these covers. Although the contract number dates these pieces to the mid 1960s, several of these models have the deep flap cuts suggesting they are of 1969 or slightly later production.

Thanks! I was looking at the same info online but was confused by it.
Was hoping it was USMC but I guess if these cover were used quite a bit in Nam then there is no way to know that and from one source I read online the USMC covers had a stencil USMC insignia on the front?

USMC did not have the EGA stencilled.
Here's my cover with the same stock number.
