    Hello,
Recently found us m1 helmet with stencil DZ on it.
    Meaning??
Liner is westinghouse. Insignia on the inner helmet are 2 crossed red bars with rests of yellow paint. Meaning??
Helmet shell is signed with the name of the first US soldier who entered Peruwélz Belgium. Heat stamp is 540D.
Can someone help me with determination please?

The M1 guys will probably want to see more photos of the helmet and liner. Inside shots as well.

I'm sure you are aware but the "signature" appears to be done with a modern Sharpie style magic marker. It might have been done by the vet but if so, it was well after the war.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

It does look like a autograph from someone in the 628th tank destroyer Batt.
Tom Miller was from New York with rank of Private. 32633603

    Hello,
Yes the signature is made in 1995 or 1996.
But its mostly the meaning of the insignias that I want to know. Grtz

In the liner is a big hole but you still can read the westinghouse stamp and D 16

There's also a number painted on the inside of the liner S-2314

Not sure but I’m sending the pictures over to another forum to see if they have any ideas. The s-2314 is a laundry number and it had 90 possible men.
