I wanted to share some photos of the Patton Museum as it "was" before the Government did the Base Realignment here in the States and changed this museum. It was wonderful, having Armor from all nations, but predominantly WWII, and the tanks and artillery pieces were from all sides, along with personal items belonging to General Patton. I have not been since they changed things, but this museum is close to the SOS Show in Louisville Ky (45 minutes to an hour drive), so for those who attend that show - it may be worth an extra afternoon to visit this place. I posted the Air Force Wright Pat photos, and again, that is a few hours drive away from the SOS for those interested who travel to the show. There is a link online for seeing what is now at the Patton museum at Fort Knox, and I was told General Patton's personal items still remain here at this museum. If anyone has more information who has visited this location recently, I'd enjoy hearing about the changes made. One of the best displays "was" the "cutaway" King Tiger Tank - literally - the side was cut out and you could see the interior. Also - the personal items of the General are/were here. His B-3 Jacket, Helmet, Revolvers, personal truck/office set up, etc. The link to the current museum is here: Patton Museum Online: Official General George S. Patton Jr. Museum featuring Memorabilia & History - I hope those interested enjoy the photos, and have a Great Christmas Holiday.
