Just another piece of shell trench art, but what I’m curious about is the three different eras represented on it. The shell is 1944, the primer is 1952, and there's an inscription on the base from Vietnam: "From Mrs. and Mr. NG. V. THAU - Saigon VN. – With best wishes"

Makes me wonder if the French were using US ordnance early on in Vietnam, or if the US was still using Korean War artillery when it went in? Or perhaps it is completely unrelated to the French/American/Vietnam conflicts?

Any ideas?
