What I like the most about Ol' War Horse is the battle inflicted bullet damage that gives it the Been There Done That look

    Great pics Phil.
Back in 65-67 we would go up to Lake Matinez for a weekend but back then,
there we no displays to stop and see at YPG. Just big no trespassing signs.
However there was always lots to see at "Military appreciation days" Do they still do that?

I was down there when they were testing the Atomic Cannon. They would fire it at night
and when you heard the doom off in the distance, you could run out into the yard
and see the tracer as it went over the city. Pretty cool stuff for a 11 year old kid to see.

A couple of pics from Appreciation days 1967.

    I'm glad you guy's like the pic's!

    Greg,
We still have Military Appreciation days here but nothing like they did back then at YPG.
Now it is all displayed during our annual Air Show. The Army ,Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps bring out their toys to show off.
By the way the Atomic Cannon along with a couple more Big Gun's are displayed at the entrance to the road leading to YPG when you turn off from I-95.

On our next trip out to Martinez lake, I'll stop by and take some pic's of it
I'm sure the lake area/real estate has changed drastically since you were living here.

That last pic of yours is of the Hawk missiles that were from the 2nd LAAMB (Light Anti Aircraft Missile Battalion) that was stationed here. Long Gone now.. I work with a gent (Old Gunny)that took those over to Vietnam. I'll have to show him that pic. It might be him standing there

Man porn in the sand. Better than Pamela Anderson in Baywatch for sure!
