Letters engraved in Schwarz Verwundetenabzeichen
Hi. Was this a common practice to engrave letters in your Verwundetenabzeichen? I'm hoping its wartime or at least done by the recipient. The seller didn't mention the engraving and I paid 20 euros for it. In the pictures, the swastika was censored and it also covered those markings. Thanks in advance.
IMO, either the recipient, or the soldier that captured it.

In truth it is and always has been very very common for soldiers to mark personal items with identifiying letters, numbers, random symbols much in the same way that a carpenter or mechanic marks his tools.
