IMO, it is not an original "30", Hauptmunzampt Wein, with a tapered pin.
    The hinge is incorrect.
You can compare with my example here.
Verwundetenabzeichen 1939 in Silber, Hauptmunzampt Wein 30 Tapered Pin.

I think it's an unmarked Floch fake. I can't find a real one looking like this.

I don't know who it is made by, but it is not an original.

    Thanks Ralph.

The left hand sword handle/crosspiece has four lines or bars, not five, I think.
The dots or pebbling don't show the waviness of some fakes though.
Is there any other "tell" that indicates it is a fake? Is there a guide available?

    Again, thank you

As I said, the hardware is not correct, compare with my example.

Thank you again, but it doesn't claim to be a "30" for Hauptmunzampt. Are they the only maker to use such a wide or tapered pin?

From only the two photos posted, the pin and catch appear to be a "30" but the hinge is not correct.
I am not familiar with any other maker that uses this type of pin, and catch.
There are others that use a "wide pin", but different catch. There may be others that use a similar catch, but not a wide pin.
This has all of the appearances of a 30, but it is not correct.
Sorry, I do not follow fakes, so I can not say who made this one.
    Ralph.

There's no point clutching at straws that this might be real. Ralph pretty much sums it up with his assessment. Even though the photos cannnot be expanded, the base metal showing through on the wreath and pin certainly does not look like tombac.

I would suggest that if you are thinking about buying this badge, don't, and if you already have, return it.

    Regards

Thanks Brett. It is described as "possibly reproduction" so that's fair enough. I was just trying to improve my knowledge of the verwundetenabzeichen generally, and I'm guessing the wide/flat/tapered pin is a sign of Hauptmunzampt of Vienna. Hence the relevance of the hinge which is incorrect. Thank you all again.
