Question Verwundetenabzeichen - Wound badge in Black

    Hey guys,

I purchased a black wound badge yesterday in a local store. I need some second opinions on the badge, as I am concerned that it could have been painted & also if it is indeed authentic.
It has no makers mark - but from what I know, they rarely were marked on the black ones.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

It looks good to me, the reverse hardware is fine as well...

As above, everything looks fine. Minimal paint loss, the grey base metal looks like zinc.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Thanks so much for responding Adrian. By the way, the OSTmedal database was very very helpful - so thank you again for sharing that with me. I received my maker Marked (127) and i could clearly see the mark when I observed it in person. Much appreciate your time

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but what you have here is a chaos pattern fake. There are quite a few threads about these on the forum, but seeing as the search function is out of bounds for some members, I will give you a comprehensive breakdown from the WAF:

Once again, sorry mate. I would return this if I were you.
