It's interesting in post #6 you mention Mr McWilliams was involved with Maritime forces. The National Police Field Force was also involved in maritime patrols, probably Mekong Delta. And rather interestingly the photo of the Dai Ta in uniform shows him wearing epaulettes of a Naval style, which may indicate an maritime unit.
