    Hi, mates,

    referring to this thread:
Textbook vietnam grounds troop steel combat helmet.

I would like to show you an M1 from the Vietnam era which I received today.
I am allowed to show pictures from his sale after obtaining the seller's permission.

The seller is English and bought this helmet himself years ago from the States.

Opinions on the helmet are welcome, I hope you like it ?

    Best regards,
    R.

I also bought this helmet from the same man who is obviously dissolving his collection, but it is not on the way to me yet.

With the seller's permission I may use his images from his sale.

He informed me of the following:
The liner is dated September 1964.
It has a beautiful early cotton twill helmet cover, the contract number of which dates to early 1965.
Very nice original piece from the Vietnam War!

The helmet looks to be manufactured by Parish and the set as a model hole looks to good. It’s always hard to say if it’s a original or put together set but it a nice example of a Vietnam era helmet.

Hi, Marty, thx. for Your response !

Here are some stamps that I found in the liner of the helmet, which I first showed here in the thread.
M17, probably the mold number, marked in the dome of the liner.

Unfortunately, I can no longer read the other stamp in the liner, which has been "sweated off" due to use of the helmet and can only be interpreted vaguely.

The helmet is from 1967 and the camouflage cover is from 1965.

In any case, for me it is a very nice set that belongs together, also in terms of the overall condition because of the signs of use and also in terms of the production period of the components.

Of course, today no one can claim with certainty that a shell and a liner have always been together in this configuration as one holds this helmet in one's hands today, decades after the end of the Vietnam War.

    Best regards,
    R.
