I can't recall if they have been identified but I know they produced them in WWII as well.
I sent off a PM to someone on another forum who collects canteens.
Hopefully he might know.

I think they were a Canadian maker. But I don't know what the initials stand for.

The cup maker is ,W.C. Wood Company , The US cups were manufactured in Ottawa, Ohio.
and Guelph, Ontario
