It speaks for itself.

Again David, I have never seen one of these either
Ben
Yes....a first for me too! Congrats!
Rob
...speechless... David, this must be the rarest Stahlhelm buckle. And so nice made - congratulations !
I don't think, it is made after 1933...what do you guys think ?
Thomas
Ben and Rob
It is in my opinion and without being overly bragging, the very rarest and most desirable of the Stahlhelmbund buckles.
I have no idea whatsoever of the buckles history or wear, although some references say "NSDFB" as NSD "Front Kaempferbund" Stahlhelm.

David
David ,
Again you outdo yourself. A super rare buckle. Don't know where you are finding these items but if you come across ones you do not want steer them my way. If my memory serves me right this type is shown in Angolia's book credited to Gillian. MV may have had one in his collection as well. Whatever the case you have one now. Congrats.
Bill
You are correct Bill, an illustration of this buckle appears in the second edition Angolia publication and furthermore, there is one shown in the Bandau, Catella, Reid and Bichlmaier und Hartnung books.
Bandau refers to it as NSD-Frontkämpferbund "Stahlhelm" (1933 to 1935), Catella as NSDFB (1933), Reid as a Stahlhelm (sic) variant and B u H, the same as Bandau.
Who were the NSD-Frontkämpferbund "Stahlhelm" ?

David
David,
thats a good link, not too much info, but better than nothing :

Thomas
Thankyou for the "link" Thomas.
A subject that I would like to do a little research on, to include the Stahlhelmbund-FAD.

David
