Hi all, I’m not sure if I ever showed this here but this is my 1941 podolsk SVT-40 being quite a scarce maker, around 100,000 produced between 40-41 and I believe one known example to be known in early 42. Arsenal refurbed as most are, the receiver, sight hood and trigger guard are matching. Along side of my other two 42 and 43 Tula’s.

Hey Goon. Awesome looking SVT. I just received the June issue of American Rifleman magazine and finished an article on the back page concerning the SVT-40. The one pictured in the article was made at the Tula Arsenal. Use a short stroke gas-piston system the Germans copied it states. Says Interarms imported some to the states. Graceful looking battle rifle. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful rifles. I’ve been looking around at the few I’ve seen but unsure if dishing out for a SVT has a higher priority over other things.

Thanks Mauser, I believe the G43 was a sort of copy of the svt? Could be wrong on that, what’s the going price and availability down in the states for these?

I tell myself their investments even though I’d never sell lol but I think the price on these are at a steady incline.

The last ones I saw not on the internet were at the Wanenmacher gun show in Tulsa, OK a few years back. There was a good few of them and were going for around $3000 give or take. About the same amount as the G43s we’re going for.

That’s a price you don’t see up here, then again M1 garands in Canada are anywhere from 2500-3000.

Ya true I have heard things are a bit more pricey up there. I bought my Garand for $500 15 yrs ago at a gun show in Houston. Wish I would’ve bought more back then when just about everything was around a thousand dollars cheaper than they are now! Lol
