Re: British Enfield equipment?
Looks like some sort of grenade firing adapter and sight. Not familiar with this particular one though...although the form on the bottom of the adapter looks a lot like a bayonet mount for a No.4

Re: British Enfield equipment?
Looking in 'The Lee Enfield' by I Skennerton it looks like the 2.5 " grenade discharging cup no.3 mk1 but more roughly made especially the bayonet connector-are you sure the interior diameter is only 50mm?

Re: British Enfield equipment?
I found a refrence to the No4 grenade cup, but no photos. It appears the Energra grenade was used in Korea but this was launched from a spigot launcher.

Re: British Enfield equipment?
Maybe some sort of locally made launcher for gas grenade etc for police use-no.4 rifle saw service in many areas with many armies/police forces long after WW2-your launcher doesn't seem to be in the books but it exists!

Re: British Enfield equipment?
I think it might be the discharger cup for a tear gas grenade, possibly used in the early days in Northern Ireland, by the RUC
