    No, the Frankford Arsenal ammo is for display; I have the 200 rounds of modern load .45 Long Colt shown above to shoot.

    The original has corrosive primers as well and they are incredibly bad if you do shoot even one. If you decided to try it then solvent the whole cylinder, frame and barrel immediately after finishing or it can be an awful mess!

    Oh, and yes that is from experience with a Colt New service Mk1 in .455 in.

    Here's a box of Frankford Arsenal 20 blank rounds dated 1914; apparently they were used to accustom Cavalry horses to the sound of gunfire.
